Freak-folkie Joanna Newsom will be releasing her new album “Have One On Me” this year. Now there are rumors that this new album will be a triple album. After what he said on the Katrina telethon and the way he behaved at the MTV Video Music Awards, everyone agrees it’s just best that he does not participate. Kayne has to make everything about himself. He will do anything to...

Jay-Z loves “the Grizzly Bear”. Now I don’t know if he is just referring to the band’s material or if he thinks that the band’s name has a “the” at the beginning of it but it’s just funny. Here is what he told the The Village Voice:
I just love the Grizzly Bear. That project was great. It sounds like these church cathedral chords—it’s...

I still can’t believe they made a whole movie out of one of the shortes sketches on SNL. You can watch the trailer below....
How Can Anyone Not Like Conan?
Conan O’Brien was swindled by NBC into believing that he could inherit the Tonight Show from Jay Leno but Leno didn’t actually retired. After NBC had him still be in the shadow of the former Tonight Show host Conan took it and just kept going with his dream job but after NBC decided that they still needed Leno at late night that is when Conan finally said no. In a letter he wrote why...

Video: Girls - Wild Eyes (Vivian Girls cover)
My little brother told me about this video earlier today I had not seen it. Its San Francisco’s Girls covering Vivian Girls’ ‘Wild Eyes’ Some of the reverb of the original is lacking but that doesn’t mean it sucks, the anemic vocal delivery however is a little off putting. You can watch the video below.

Someone Actually Avoids Talking To Vampire Weekend...
NY Mag’s Vulture interviewed Ezra Koenig of Vampire Weekend for the release of their sophomore album “Contra” and they avoided talking about their African influence and preppy fashion. Here is an excerpt from the more interesting part of the interview:

Mike Love Is An Asshole!
What kind of acceptance speech is this? I saw on the Daily Swarm reasons why people hated Mike Love. At first I was like he can’t be that bad until you go down the list and see the crap people had to take from him. Then I came upon his speech for the Beach Boys being inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame andit was horrible. He calls out The Rollings Stones, The Beatles, Bruce...

They’re just, like, my band idols. Them and The Smiths. But Devo, I made them...
