Video: Blur - Charmless Man
‘Charmless Man’ features the line “he knows his claret from his beaujolais” which is really epitomizes the pretentiousness and education of the ‘charmless man’ in the song. Also who doesn’t love to see Damon Albarn and co. get run over.

Covers: The Libertines - Can't Stand Me Now...
This single has great b-sides like ‘Never Never’, which could have found a place on “The Libertines’ and ‘All At Sea’, which didn’t seems finished.

Covers: Dom - Sun Bronzed Greek Gods
It’s been a good year for cats on covers of new releases with Wavves, Best Coast and Klaxons. Dom don’t stay far behind with the cover of their debut EP “Sun Bronzed Greek Gods”. I mean out of all of them this one is the most realistic and that counts for something right?

Video: Kurt Vile - Heart Attack
I posted about Kurt Vile on the blog and started listening to his music, when this track ‘Heart Attack’ from his last album “Childish Progidy” came on. The songs features idiosyncratic chord progressions and Vile practically yelping his soulful vocals.

Video: Blur - She's So High
What if Blur expanded on this sound instead of going Britpop on their next album?

Frankie Rose Poses Topless For NY Press (NSFW)
Yeah, frontwoman for Frankie Rose and the Outs, and previously drummer for Vivian Girls, Crystal Stilts and Dum Dum Girls has gone topless for the free New York City magazine NY Press. The picture isn’t anything to risque, her hair is covering her breasts, but you can kind of see one of her nipples so I guess it’s NSFW. That’s the picture above. (Brooklynvegan)

Covers: Yo La Tengo - Today Is The Day EP
The title track from this EP is a reworking of the dream-like original version featured on their album “Summer Sun”. This EP is awesome and the cover is an homage to Ornette Coleman’s “Something Else!!!”:

I just recently saw the video for this song that was featured on the soundtrack for “Scott Pilgrim vs. The World”, it just makes me think one thing; when am I going to look back at how I look now and think, “wow, I used to dress really bad”. You can watch the video below.

See Vampire Weekend's "Contra" Cover Model Ann...
Vampire Weekend werer recently sued by “Contra” cover model Ann Kirsten Kennis, for using her image without her permission. As we all may or may not know that is an old image of the woman taken sometime in the 80s when she was a model. It turns out that besides that old polaroid she also found work modeling for tequila, cosmetics and male watch ads. You can see her portfolio here...

Watch Lady Gaga's Stage Dive at Lollapalooza
When I first heard of her stage dive in a fishnet outfit I thought it was sometime during her performance but it turns out that she did it during the performance of Semi Precious Weapons. Now video has surfaced and it seems really funny. You should look at the expression of the guy she dove on top of. You can watch the video below.

Video: Children Perform Gorillaz' 'On Melancholy...
Gorillaz’s ‘On Melancholy Hill’ is one of the best singles of the year, now you can watch a cover with children singing the song and fans of Gorillaz performing the instrumental portion. What makes it so great is how forced the children look into performing the song, it is kind of sad. Anyway you can watch the video below.

Video: Basia Bulat - Before I Knew
I was able to catch Basia Bulat’s opening set for St. Vincent yesterday during their show at Summerstage. When she played this song everyone loved it and joined in clapping along to it. It was a nice moment in her set. The live version is better though, more ukelele. You can hear the song below.
